Saturday 10/27
Yesterday me and my friend had some longboards that we could fool around with and we decide it would be awesome to get one of those accessories to make sparks as you ride.
We looked up a bunch of skate shops that were in the city and left to skate to them. The one we planned on going to was a little over two miles away, we figured that wasn’t too big of a deal.
So we left, we’re skating there with headphones on and it’s really fun carving around everything though this city. We get around through everything, pass this bakery that smelled really awesome and decided we’ll go to the store then eat there, then go back.
We get to this store and it looks like it’s just recently gone out of business. It’s super cold and we’re disappointed so we’re just sitting there. Then lmao we look at each other and it’s like “The next one is about 3 miles farther..”
So we decide to keep on going and up until this point it’s all pretty reasonable but now we’re getting into the very busy parts of the city and crossing over bridges that we have no business walking across because cars are coming at us 60+ mph from behind lmao, get stopped by a cop, talk to him for a big but no big deal. He tells us the right side to walk on but it honestly made no difference and my friend is seriously scared as fuck as we’re walking through this rofl
Finally get past this traffic and to an area with sidewalks again. We see Halloween Express which we know is supposed to be near this place so we’re excited to finally arrive. (It’s been about 2.5 - 3 hours at this point)
We skate down there and there’s this little stone wall that separates us from the lower level we need to go down to but my friends in such a big rush that he jumps off it and hurts his ankle (like he always does) lmao, nothing major but still, only him.
We finally arrive at the complex this is located at, except wait, it’s not located here. So we’re tired as hell, my blood sugar is low, his ankle hurts, we’re hungry. Totally exhausted lmao. Been like 3.5 - 4 hours now. We just chill out sitting on the curb for like 15 minutes and call some friends to come pick us up because we’re too tired
They pull up with looks that remind me of getting picked up by your parents when you get in trouble. One literally looked at me and said:
“I expected this from Robert, but not you, Jonathan.” lmfao
They claimed it to be one of the dumbest things we’ve done, and you may read this and think the same, but it was something totally spontaneous and one of the most fun times I’ve actually had in college. Good day, and we didn’t even get the part.
Moral of the story: if the bakery smells good, just stop at the bakery.
